As he did, you also dwelt in the wilderness, O father, and you purified your mind through fasting and vigilance, and through unceasing prayer you were united to the Lord. Then you were filled with incomprehensible light, and you became widely known for the gifts of grace that God gave you. You were especially famous as a most ardent protector of newborns and infants, and as a ready healer of ailments. For Christ famously glorifies you, O Stylianos, for you glorified Him from infancy. On November 26, we commemorate our devout and God-bearing father Stylianos of Paphlagonia the Wonderworker.

The sturdy pillar of asceticism has fallen,

for Stylianos’ life has ended.

On the twenty-sixth, Stylianos stood radiant before God.
