God is the Lord, and He revealed Himself to us. Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord. [SAAS]

Στίχ. αʹ. Ἐξομολογεῖσθε τῷ Κυρίῳ καὶ ἐπικαλεῖσθε τὸ ὄνομα τὸ ἅγιον αὐτοῦ.

Verse 1: Give thanks to the Lord and call upon His holy name.

Στίχ. βʹ. Πάντα τὰ ἔθνη ἐκύκλωσάν με, καὶ τῷ ὀνόματι Κυρίου ἠμυνάμην αὐτούς.

Verse 2: All the nations surrounded me, but in the name of the Lord I defended myself against them.

Στίχ. γʹ. Παρὰ Κυρίου ἐγένετο αὕτη καὶ ἔστι θαυμαστὴ ἐν ὀφθαλμοῖς ἡμῶν.

Verse 3: And this came about from the Lord, and it is wonderful in our eyes.

Ὁ Θεὸς τῶν πατέρων ἡμῶν, ὁ ποιῶν ἀεὶ μεθʼ ἡμῶν κατὰ τὴν σην ἐπιείκειαν, μὴ ἀποστήσῃς τὸ ἔλεός σου ἀφʼ ἡμῶν, ἀλλὰ ταῖς αὐτῶν ἱκεσίαις, ἐν εἰρήνῃ κυβέρνησον τὴν ζωὴν ἡμῶν.

O God of our Fathers, since You always deal with us in accordance with Your gentleness, do not withdraw Your mercy from us, but at their fervent entreaties, pilot our life in peace. [SD]

Mode 4.

Σήμερον τῆς εὐδοκίας Θεοῦ τὸ προοίμιον, καὶ τῆς τῶν ἀνθρώπων σωτηρίας ἡ προκήρυξις. Ἐν Ναῷ τοῦ Θεοῦ τρανῶς ἡ Παρθένος δείκνυται, καὶ τὸν Χριστὸν τοῖς πᾶσι προκαταγγέλλεται. Αὐτῇ καὶ ἡμεῖς μεγαλοφώνως βοήσωμεν· Χαῖρε τῆς οἰκονομίας τοῦ Κτίστου ἡ ἐκπλήρωσις.

Today is the prelude of God’s good pleasure, and the proclamation of humanity’s salvation. In the temple of God, the Virgin is presented openly, and in herself she announces Christ to all. Let us, then, with a great voice cry aloud to her: “Rejoice, you are the fulfillment of the Creator’s dispensation.” [SD]

Remembering our all-holy, immaculate, most blessed, and glorious Lady, the Theotokos and ever-virgin Mary, with all the saints, let us commend ourselves and one another and our whole life to Christ our God.

Against You only have I sinned and done evil in Your sight; that You may be justified in Your words, and overcome when You are judged. For behold, I was conceived in transgressions, and in sins my mother bore me. Behold, You love truth; You showed me the unknown and secret things of Your wisdom. You shall sprinkle me with hyssop, and I will be cleansed; You shall wash me, and I will be made whiter than snow. O Hierarch Amphilochios, the great servant of the Holy Trinity, you are like divine thunder, a trumpet of the Holy Spirit, an axe against heresies, and a tender of the faithful. Now with the Angels, never cease interceding on behalf of us all. [SD]

Wise and godly-minded father Gregory, like a large sun you illumine the whole Church of God with the auroras of your miracles. You saved many people with your intercessions. You drove the heretics from your flock. Therefore we honor you. [SD]

On November 23 we commemorate our father among the saints Amphilochios, Bishop of Iconium.

O virgins, lead the way with ceremonial lamps, and honor the solemn procession of the ever-virgin. O mothers, forget your labor pains, and joyfully come as well, and extol her who became the Mother of God and the agent of joy for the world. And let us all, with joy and delight, salute her as did the Angel and sing, “Rejoice!” to her who is full of grace, and who ever intercedes for our souls. [SD]
