Θεὸς Κύριος καὶ ἐπέφανεν ἡμῖν. Εὐλογημένος ὁ ἐρχόμενος ἐν ὀνόματι Κυρίου.

God is the Lord, and He revealed Himself to us. Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord. [SAAS]

Στίχ. αʹ. Ἐξομολογεῖσθε τῷ Κυρίῳ καὶ ἐπικαλεῖσθε τὸ ὄνομα τὸ ἅγιον αὐτοῦ.

Verse 1: Give thanks to the Lord and call upon His holy name.

Στίχ. βʹ. Πάντα τὰ ἔθνη ἐκύκλωσάν με, καὶ τῷ ὀνόματι Κυρίου ἠμυνάμην αὐτούς.

Verse 2: All the nations surrounded me, but in the name of the Lord I defended myself against them.

Στίχ. γʹ. Παρὰ Κυρίου ἐγένετο αὕτη καὶ ἔστι θαυμαστὴ ἐν ὀφθαλμοῖς ἡμῶν.

Verse 3: And this came about from the Lord, and it is wonderful in our eyes.

Ἡ ἀμνάς σου Ἰησοῦ, κράζει μεγάλη τῇ φωνῇ. Σὲ Νυμφίε μου ποθῶ, καὶ σὲ ζητοῦσα ἀθλῶ, καὶ συσταυροῦμαι καὶ συνθάπτομαι τῷ βαπτισμῷ σου· καὶ πάσχω διὰ σέ, ὡς βασιλεύσω σὺν σοί, καὶ θνήσκω ὑπὲρ σοῦ, ἵνα καὶ ζήσω ἐν σοί· ἀλλʼ ὡς θυσίαν ἄμωμον προσδέχου τὴν μετὰ πόθου τυθεῖσάν σοι. Αὐτῆς πρεσβείαις, ὡς ἐλεήμων, σῶσον τὰς ψυχὰς ἡμῶν.

Your maiden Martyr, like a lamb, cries out, “O Jesus, for You, * my pure Bridegroom, I long; and seeking You I compete; * and I am crucified and buried with You in Your baptism. * I suffer for Your sake, that I may reign with You. * I die for You that I may also live in You. * Accept me as an unblemished sacrifice * as I offer myself to You with love.” * At her entreaties and intercessions, * save our souls, O Merciful Lord. [SD]

Ἐν σοὶ Πάτερ ἀκριβῶς διεσώθη τὸ κατʼ εἰκόνα· λαβὼν γὰρ τὸν σταυρόν, ἠκολούθησας τῷ Χριστῷ καὶ πράττων ἐδίδασκες· ὑπερορᾶν μὲν σαρκός, παρέρχεται γάρ, ἐπιμελεῖσθαι δὲ ψυχῆς πράγματος ἀθανάτου. Διὸ καὶ μετὰ Ἀγγέλων συναγάλλεται, Ὅσιε Ἀβράμιε, τὸ πνεῦμά σου.

In you, O Father, is preserved undistorted what was made in the image of God; for taking up the cross, you followed Christ and by example taught, that we should overlook the flesh, since it passes away, and instead look after the soul, since it is immortal. And therefore, O devout Abramius, your spirit rejoices with the angels. [SD]

Τὸ ἀσάλευτον στήριγμα, τὸ τῆς πίστεως, καὶ σεβάσμιον δώρημα, τῶν ψυχῶν ἡμῶν, τὴν Θεοτόκον ἐν ὕμνοις μεγαλύνωμεν πιστοί. Χαῖρε ἡ τὴν πέτραν τῆς ζωῆς, ἐν γαστρί σου χωρήσασα, χαῖρε τῶν περάτων ἡ ἐλπίς, θλιβομένων ἀντίληψις, χαῖρε Νύμφη ἀνύμφευτε.

O Believers, let us magnify the Theotokos in hymns. She is the unshakable support of the Faith, and the venerable gift to our souls. “Rejoice! for in your womb you contained the Rock of life. Rejoice! as the hope of all the earth, and the help of those in trouble! Rejoice, O unwedded Bride!” [SD]

Ἀναγινώσκεται τὸ οἰκεῖον Κάθισμα τοῦ Ψαλτηρίου, ἤτοι Κάθισμα 7. Μεθʼ ὃ ἡ μικρὰ Συναπτή.

The appointed Kathisma of the Psalter may be read, i.e. Kathisma 7. Then the short litany.

Τῆς παναγίας, ἀχράντου, ὑπερευλογημένης, ἐνδόξου, δεσποίνης ἡμῶν, Θεοτόκου καὶ ἀειπαρθένου Μαρίας μετὰ πάντων τῶν ἁγίων μνημονεύσαντες, ἑαυτοὺς καὶ ἀλλήλους καὶ πᾶσαν τὴν ζωὴν ἡμῶν Χριστῷ τῷ Θεῷ παραθώμεθα.

Remembering our all-holy, immaculate, most blessed, and glorious Lady, the Theotokos and ever-virgin Mary, with all the saints, let us commend ourselves and one another and our whole life to Christ our God.

Ἐν ἀνομίαις συλληφθεὶς ἐγὼ ὁ ἄσωτος, οὐ τολμῶ ἀτενίσαι εἰς τὸ ὕψος τοῦ οὐρανοῦ, ἀλλὰ θαῤῥῶν εἰς τὴν φιλανθρωπίαν σου, κράζω, ὁ Θεὸς ἱλάσθητί μοι, καὶ σῶσόν με.

Conceived as I was in iniquities, I the prodigal dare not look up into heaven. But with confidence in Your benevolence, I cry out: O God be gracious unto me and save me. [SD]

Στίχ. Κύριε, μὴ τῷ θυμῷ σου ἐλέγξῃς με, μηδὲ τῇ ὀργῇ σου παιδεύσῃς με.

Verse: O Lord, do not rebuke me in Your wrath, nor chasten me in Your anger.

Εἰ ὁ δίκαιος μόλις σῴζεται, ἐγὼ ποῦ φανοῦμαι ὁ ἁμαρτωλός; τὸ βάρος καὶ τὸν καύσωνα τῆς ἡμέρας οὐκ ἐβάστασα· τοῖς περὶ τὴν ἑνδεκάτην ὥραν, συναρίθμησόν με, ὁ Θεός, καὶ σῶσόν με.

If the righteous man is only scarcely saved, what shall become of me who am a sinner? I did not bear the burden and the heat of the day. Number me with those who came at the eleventh hour, O God, and save me. [SD]

Ἄῤῥηκτον τεῖχος κεκτημένοι πιστοί, τὴν Θεοτόκον Μαρίαν, δεῦτε προσπέσωμεν αὐτῇ· παῤῥησίαν γὰρ ἔχει πρὸς τὸν τεχθέντα ἐξ αὐτῆς, τοῦ πρεσβεύειν καὶ σῴζειν ἀπὸ ὀργῆς, καὶ θανάτου τὰς ψυχὰς ἡμῶν.

We believers have acquired an unbreakable wall, namely Mary the Theotokos. So, let us submit our petitions to her. For she has great confidence with her Son; she can intercede for us and save our souls, from the wrath and from death. [SD]

Ἀγκάλας πατρικάς, διανοῖξαί μοι σπεῦσον· ἀσώτως τὸν ἐμόν, κατηνάλωσα βίον· εἰς πλοῦτον ἀδαπάνητον, ἀφορῶν τῶν οἰκτιρμῶν σου Σωτήρ, νῦν πτωχεύουσαν, μὴ ὑπερίδῃς καρδίαν· σοὶ γάρ,Κύριε, ἐν κατανύξει κραυγάζω· Ἥμαρτόν σοι σῶσόν με.

Make haste, open to me Your paternal embraces. * I prodigally spent all my means of subsistence. * O Savior, I look hopefully * to Your tender mercy’s inexhaustible wealth. * Do not overlook a heart that now is impoverished. * For to You, O Lord, do I cry out with compunction: * I have sinned against You, save me. The sleep of indolence, O my soul, from about you * shake off, and light the bright, cheerful lamp of repentance. * Rejoicingly now exit from * the confusion of the present life, * so that you might meet the immortal Bridegroom, * saying unto Him: Reject me not, but receive me, * O Word, through your Mother’s prayers. Ὁ πάλαι ταῖς ῥοαῖς, Ἰορδάνου βαπτίσας, τὴν κάθαρσιν παντός, Ἰωάννη τοῦ κόσμου, πολλοῖς με βυθιζόμενον, πλημμελήμασιν ἕλκυσον, καὶ ἀπόπλυνον, ἀπὸ παντοίας κηλῖδος, τὸν φιλάνθρωπον, διὰ παντὸς ἱκετεύων, ὡς πρέσβυς εὐπρόσδεκτος.

O John who in the streams of the Jordan once baptized * the One who for the world is the purification, * extend your hand and rescue me who am foundering in the sea * of my many sins, and wash away all defilement. * Intercede with Him, our most benevolent Savior, * who always accepts your prayers. [SD]

Ὡς καλοὶ στρατιῶται ὁμοφρόνως πιστεύσαντες, τὰς ἀπειλὰς τῶν τυράννων μὴ πτοούμενοι, Ἅγιοι, προσήλθετε προθύμως τῷ Χριστῷ, ἀράμενοι τὸν τίμιον Σταυρόν, καὶ τελέσαντες τὸν δρόμον, ἐξ οὐρανοῦ τὴν νίκην ἐδέξασθε. Δόξα τῷ ἐνισχύσαντι ὑμᾶς, δόξα τῷ στεφανώσαντι, δόξα τῷ δωρουμένῳ διʼ ὑμῶν, πᾶσιν ἰάματα.

O Martyrs, you agreed in your beliefs, and as good soldiers * you were not in any way frightened by the threats of the tyrants; * but taking up the honorable Cross, * O Saints, you came with eagerness to Christ. * And when you finished the course of the race, * you received the victory from heaven. * Glory to Him whose might supported you. * Glory to Him who placed the crown on you. * Glory to Him who works healings for all through you. Τότε ἀνοίσουσιν ἐπὶ τὸ θυσιαστήριόν σου μόσχους.

Have mercy on me, O God, according to Your great mercy; and according to the abundance of Your compassion, blot out my transgression. Wash me thoroughly from my lawlessness and cleanse me from my sin. For I know my lawlessness, and my sin is always before me. Against You only have I sinned and done evil in Your sight; that You may be justified in Your words, and overcome when You are judged. For behold, I was conceived in transgressions, and in sins my mother bore me. Behold, You love truth; You showed me the unknown and secret things of Your wisdom. You shall sprinkle me with hyssop, and I will be cleansed; You shall wash me, and I will be made whiter than snow. You shall make me hear joy and gladness; my bones that were humbled shall greatly rejoice. Turn Your face from my sins, and blot out all my transgressions. Create in me a clean heart, O God, and renew a right spirit within me. Do not cast me away from Your presence, and do not take Your Holy Spirit from me. Restore to me the joy of Your salvation, and uphold me with Your guiding Spirit. I will teach transgressors Your ways, and the ungodly shall turn back to You. Deliver me from bloodguiltiness, O God, the God of my salvation, and my tongue shall greatly rejoice in Your righteousness. O Lord, You shall open my lips, and my mouth will declare Your praise. For if You desired sacrifice, I would give it; You will not be pleased with whole burnt offerings. A sacrifice to God is a broken spirit, a broken and humbled heart God will not despise. Do good, O Lord, in Your good pleasure to Zion, and let the walls of Jerusalem be built; then You will be pleased with a sacrifice of righteousness, with offerings and whole burnt offerings; then shall they offer young bulls on Your altar. Παρθενίας νάμασι, καθηγνισμένη Ὁσία, μαρτυρίου αἵμασιν, Ἀναστασία πλυθεῖσα, παρέχεις τοῖς ἐν ἀνάγκαις τῶν νοσημάτων, ἴασιν καὶ σωτηρίαν τοῖς προσιοῦσιν, ἐκ καρδίας· ἰσχὺν γὰρ νέμει, Χριστὸς ὁ βρύων, χάριν ἀέναον.

Practicing virginity * like water cleansed you, O devout Saint, * and the blood of martyrdom * washed you as well, O Anastasia. * Now you grant to those in need of them cures and healing, * and to us who come sincerely you give salvation. * For through you is Christ dispensing * His ever-flowing power and grace divine. Overlooking things that perish, you received the imperishable. O wise man, from an early age, you despised bodily delights and pleasures, and you desired to be celibate.
