God is the Lord, and He revealed Himself to us. Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord. [SAAS]

Verse 1: Give thanks to the Lord and call upon His holy name.

Verse 2: All the nations surrounded me, but in the name of the Lord I defended myself against them.

As a disciple of the Lord, you accepted the Gospel, O James the Just. As a Martyr you have unchangeability; as the Brother of the Lord you have confidence; and you can intercede as a hierarch. Intercede with Christ our God, entreating Him to save our souls. [SD]

Τὸ ἀπʼ αἰῶνος ἀπόκρυφον, καὶ Ἀγγέλοις ἄγνωστον μυστήριον, διὰ σού Θεοτόκε τοῖς ἐπὶ γῆς πεφανέρωται, Θεὸς ἐν ἀσυγχύτῳ ἑνώσει σαρκούμενος, καὶ Σταυρὸν ἑκουσίως ὑπὲρ ἡμῶν καταδεξάμενος· διʼ οὗ ἀναστήσας τὸν πρωτόπλαστον, ἔσωσεν ἐκ θανάτου τὰς ψυχὰς ἡμῶν.

O Theotokos, revealed through you to us on earth was the mystery, that was hidden for ages and unknown by the angels. God became incarnate, uniting natures without confusion, and for us He voluntarily accepted crucifixion, through which He resurrected the first-formed man, and He saved our souls from death. [GOASD]

Remembering our all-holy, immaculate, most blessed, and glorious Lady, the Theotokos and ever-virgin Mary, with all the saints, let us commend ourselves and one another and our whole life to Christ our God.

Have mercy on me, O God, according to Your great mercy; and according to the abundance of Your compassion, blot out my transgression. Wash me thoroughly from my lawlessness and cleanse me from my sin. For I know my lawlessness, and my sin is always before me. Against You only have I sinned and done evil in Your sight; that You may be justified in Your words, and overcome when You are judged. For behold, I was conceived in transgressions, and in sins my mother bore me. Behold, You love truth; You showed me the unknown and secret things of Your wisdom. You shall sprinkle me with hyssop, and I will be cleansed; You shall wash me, and I will be made whiter than snow. You shall make me hear joy and gladness; my bones that were humbled shall greatly rejoice. Turn Your face from my sins, and blot out all my transgressions. Therefore, come quickly and rescue me from their wickedness, and change me through virtue into a bright house of virtue, O inviolate vessel of light. By your intercessions, dispel the cloud of the sinful passions, O immaculate Maid, and make me worthy of experiencing heaven and of the light that never sets. [SD]

Like an unspotted mirror, you have accurately received the primordial rays of the uncreated Trinity, which you then radiated to all. [SD]

The prophecy sees you as a hallowed stone, rolling and crushing, with the power of the Spirit, the rotten vanity of error. [SD]

With joy, all-holy Virgin, * fill my heart to fullness, * having received, O pure Maiden, the fullness of joy * and thereby causing the sorrow of sin to disappear. [SD]

With rays of your effulgence * brighten us, O Virgin, * who in the Orthodox manner declare you to be * the Theotokos who drives out the gloom of ignorance. [SD]

Come all, let us magnify James with sacred hymns, for he was the hierarch of the principle sea of the Church, a divine preacher, who was rightly called Just. [SD]

O James, we magnify you, for you shared in the divine and never-ending rule and kingdom, you were called the Brother of the Lord, and your righteous way of life was verified by your title. [SD]

O High Priest James, as you stand crowned near the throne of the Trinity, entreat your Master to grant that we who honor you with faith and love may also enjoy immortal honor. [SD]

O James, the revealer of God, you plainly teach in your sacred writings that the One born of a Virgin without agency of man is God the Logos incarnate. We who believe in Him now worthily magnify Him. [SD]
