God is the Lord, and He revealed Himself to us. Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord. [SAAS]

Στίχ. αʹ. Ἐξομολογεῖσθε τῷ Κυρίῳ καὶ ἐπικαλεῖσθε τὸ ὄνομα τὸ ἅγιον αὐτοῦ.

Verse 1: Give thanks to the Lord and call upon His holy name.

Στίχ. βʹ. Πάντα τὰ ἔθνη ἐκύκλωσάν με, καὶ τῷ ὀνόματι Κυρίου ἠμυνάμην αὐτούς.

Verse 2: All the nations surrounded me, but in the name of the Lord I defended myself against them.

Στίχ. γʹ. Παρὰ Κυρίου ἐγένετο αὕτη καὶ ἔστι θαυμαστὴ ἐν ὀφθαλμοῖς ἡμῶν.

Verse 3: And this came about from the Lord, and it is wonderful in our eyes.

Ἀπόστολοι Ἅγιοι, πρεσβεύσατε τῷ ἐλεήμονι Θεῷ, ἵνα πταισμάτων ἄφεσιν, παράσχῃ ταῖς ψυχαῖς ἡμῶν.

O holy Apostles, make intercession to our merciful God, that He grant our souls forgiveness of offenses. [SD]

As we celebrate the memory of Your Prophet Hosea, through him we importune You, O Lord, that You save our souls. [SD]

Θείας γεγόναμεν κοινωνοὶ φύσεως, διὰ σοῦ Ἀειπάρθενε· Θεὸν γὰρ ἡμῖν σεσαρκωμένον ἔτεκες· διὸ κατὰ χρέος σε, πάντες εὐσεβῶς μεγαλύνομεν.

We have become partakers of divine nature through you, O ever-virgin Maid, since for us you gave birth unto God become incarnate. Therefore we all dutifully magnify you piously. [SD]

Ἀναγινώσκεται τὸ οἰκεῖον Κάθισμα τοῦ Ψαλτηρίου, ἤτοι Κάθισμα 13. Μεθʼ ὃ ἡ μικρὰ Συναπτή.

The appointed Kathisma of the Psalter may be read, i.e. Kathisma 13. Then the short litany.

Remembering our all-holy, immaculate, most blessed, and glorious Lady, the Theotokos and ever-virgin Mary, with all the saints, let us commend ourselves and one another and our whole life to Christ our God.

Γεωργοὺς τοῦ ἀγροῦ σου ἀνέδειξας, τοὺς Ἀποστόλους σου Κύριε, ἐκτεμόντας τὰ εἴδωλα· διό σε τὸν Σωτῆρα, εἰς τὰ ἔθνη κηρύξαντες, εὐσεβῶς ἐμεγάλυναν.

O Lord, You showed Your Apostles to be husbandmen of Your field, who weeded out the idols. Therefore they preached to the Gentiles that You are the Savior, and they magnified You with correct belief. [SD]

Στίχ. Εἰς πᾶσαν τὴν γῆν ἐξῆλθεν ὁ φθόγγος αὐτῶν καὶ εἰς τὰ πέρατα τῆς οἰκουμένης τὰ ῥήματα αὐτῶν.

O all-lauded Disciples of the Lord, as firebrands you enlightened the entire globe. I who am in the darkness of passions and transgressions pray you intercede with Him, that I too be enlightened. [GOASD]

Ὁ καρπὸς τῆς κοιλίας σου Ἄχραντε, τῶν Προφητῶν ὑπάρχει, καὶ τοῦ νόμου τὸ πλήρωμα· διό σε Θεοτόκον, ἐν ἐπιγνώσει δοξάζοντες, εὐσεβῶς μεγαλύνομεν.

O immaculate Maiden, the fruit of your womb is the fulfillment of the Prophets and the Law. Therefore, O Theotokos, with understanding, we glorify and magnify you piously. [SD]

Φωστῆρες ὑμεῖς ὄντες τοῦ κόσμου, Ἀπόστολοι Κυρίου, ἀπαστράπτετε ἀεὶ τὸν λόγον τοῖς πιστοῖς, ἀπελαύνοντες σφοδρῶς, τῆς πλάνης τὴν ἀχλύν· διόπερ καὶ φωτίζετε τὰ ἔθνη τῷ βαπτίσματι, ὡς κήρυκες τῆς Τριάδος, ὄντες ἀεισέβαστοι.

You are luminaries of the world, O Apostles of the Lord. You continually shine forth the word to the faithful, and you mightily drive away the mist of deceptive error. And you illumine the nations through baptism, as you are the ever-venerable heralds of the Trinity. [GOASD]

The Prophets proclaimed it beforehand, and the Apostles taught it; the Martyrs confessed it, and we have believed it: that You, O Christ, are the Son of God and the Redeemer of the world. [GOASD]

O Virgin, the eyewitnesses of grace proclaimed that you were heaven on earth; for in your womb you held our heavenly God, who made heavenly the nature He assumed. [GOASD]

Τὴν τῆς γῆς ἐπὶ τῆς γῆς δόξαν, οὐκ ἠγαπήσατε ἔνδοξοι· Θεὸν τὸν ἐπουράνιον, τοῖς ἀνθρώποις κηρύξαντες, τούτῳ πάντας ἠγάγετε.

O glorious Apostles, on earth you did not love the glory of earth. You proclaimed the heavenly God to people, and you led them to Him. [GOASD]

Στίχ. Θαυμαστὸς ὁ Θεὸς ἐν τοῖς ἁγίοις αὐτοῦ.

Verse: God is wondrous in His saints.

For the Martyrs.

Οἱ Μάρτυρές σου Κύριε, τὸν ἐχθρὸν ἐτροπώσαντο, καὶ τὴν πλάνην τῶν εἰδώλων κατήργησαν, καθοπλισάμενοι τοῦ Σταυροῦ τὴν δύναμιν· διὸ καὶ σὺν Ἀγγέλοις ἀνυμνοῦντές σε, κραυγάζουσι τὸν ἐπινίκιον ὕμνον, δοξολογοῦντές σε, Χριστέ. Αὐτῶν ταῖς ἱκεσίαις, δώρησαι ἡμῖν τὸ μέγα ἔλεος.

O Lord, Your Martyrs, fully armed with the power of the Cross, put the enemy to flight and negated the deception of idolatry. And now they join the Angels extolling You, and glorifying You, O Christ, and together they sing the triumphal hymn. At their entreaties grant to us the great mercy. [GOASD]

O Bride of God, the fruit of your womb brought about the salvation of humanity. Therefore, we the faithful glorify you in mind and tongue, O Theotokos, and we magnify you. [SD]

Have mercy on me, O God, according to Your great mercy; and according to the abundance of Your compassion, blot out my transgression. Wash me thoroughly from my lawlessness and cleanse me from my sin. For I know my lawlessness, and my sin is always before me. Against You only have I sinned and done evil in Your sight; that You may be justified in Your words, and overcome when You are judged. For behold, I was conceived in transgressions, and in sins my mother bore me. Behold, You love truth; You showed me the unknown and secret things of Your wisdom. You shall sprinkle me with hyssop, and I will be cleansed; You shall wash me, and I will be made whiter than snow. You shall make me hear joy and gladness; my bones that were humbled shall greatly rejoice. Turn Your face from my sins, and blot out all my transgressions. Create in me a clean heart, O God, and renew a right spirit within me. Do not cast me away from Your presence, and do not take Your Holy Spirit from me. Restore to me the joy of Your salvation, and uphold me with Your guiding Spirit. I will teach transgressors Your ways, and the ungodly shall turn back to You. Deliver me from bloodguiltiness, O God, the God of my salvation, and my tongue shall greatly rejoice in Your righteousness. O Lord, You shall open my lips, and my mouth will declare Your praise. For if You desired sacrifice, I would give it; You will not be pleased with whole burnt offerings. A sacrifice to God is a broken spirit, a broken and humbled heart God will not despise. Do good, O Lord, in Your good pleasure to Zion, and let the walls of Jerusalem be built; then You will be pleased with a sacrifice of righteousness, with offerings and whole burnt offerings; then shall they offer young bulls on Your altar. Ἑορτάζει σήμερον, ἡ Βασιλεύουσα πόλις, ἑορτὴν ὑπέρλαμπρον, τῆς φωτοφόρου σου μνήμης, ἅπασαν προσκαλουμένη πόλιν καὶ χώραν· χαίρει γάρ, ὡς κτησαμένη θησαυρόν μέγαν, τὸ πολύαθλόν σου σῶμα, Ἀνδρέα Μάρτυς, ὀρθοδοξίας φωστήρ.

On this day the Capital City is celebrating * splendidly the luminous feast of your memory, O Martyr. * inviting all cities and villages to join her. * She is glad, for she obtained such a great treasure, * your triumphant body, Andrew, * the luminary of the Orthodox. [SD]

O all-glorious and devout St. Andrew, as a self-recruited Martyr, you took up the cross as your shield and put on faith as your breastplate, and you went out to battle the enemies, seen and unseen; and you brought down their hosts, by the might of the Spirit, who filled you abundantly. Therefore I pray that you grant me a bit of grace, and illumine my mind, so that I may worthily extol your valorous exploits, O luminary of the Orthodox. [SD]

Αἰνοῦμεν, εὐλογοῦμεν καὶ προσκυνοῦμεν τὸν Κύριον.

We praise and we bless and we worship the Lord.

Κάμινός ποτέ, πυρὸς ἐν Βαβυλῶνι, τὰς ἐνεργείας διεμέριζε, τῷ θείῳ προστάγματι, τοὺς Χαλδαίους καταφλέγουσα, τοὺς δὲ πιστοὺς δροσίζουσα ψάλλοντας· Εὐλογεῖτε πάντα τὰ ἔργα Κυρίου τὸν Κύριον.

Heeding the divine decree, the fiery furnace * of old in Babylon distributed its actions and energy; * for it burned up the Chaldean men, * but it refreshed the faithful young men who sang, * saying, “Bless the Lord, all you works of the Lord. Sing a hymn to Him.” [SD]

Στίχ. Μεγαλύνει ἡ ψυχή μου τὸν Κύριον, καὶ ἠγαλλίασε τὸ πνεῦμά μου ἐπὶ τῷ Θεῷ τῷ σωτῆρί μου.

Verse: My soul magnifies the Lord, and my spirit has rejoiced in God my Savior. [NKJV]

Τὴν τιμιωτέραν τῶν Χερουβείμ, καὶ ἐνδοξοτέραν, ἀσυγκρίτως τῶν Σεραφείμ, τὴν ἀδιαφθόρως, Θεὸν Λόγον τεκοῦσαν, τὴν ὄντως Θεοτόκον, σὲ μεγαλύνομεν.

Greater in honor than the Cherubim, and in glory greater beyond compare than the Seraphim; you without corruption gave birth to God the Word, and are truly Theotokos. You do we magnify. [GOASD]
