ON MONDAY EVENING
At, Lord, I have cried, Prosomia.
Stichera for the Master.
Mode 4. When you were called.
Be, O my soul, like the Canaanite woman. * Cleave to Christ and frequently cry out to Him with faith: * O Lord, have mercy on me, I pray. * I have no daughter * but my demoniac and unruly flesh. * Cast out hardness from therein, I fervently beseech, * and while arresting the throbbings of * unruly movements, * completely deaden it by the fear of You, * at the entreaties of the Maiden who * both conceived You, O Christ, and gave birth to You * without stain, and of all Saints, * Benefactor greatly merciful. [SD]
The Prophet Jonah You sent of old, O Savior, * to preach to the Ninevites; for they had greatly sinned. * When they repented, Your anger changed * into compassion, * and they were saved from the devastating wrath. * Likewise, O benevolent Lord, also send to me, * who am unworthy, Your mighty aid, * that I may likewise * return from my own countless iniquities, * and be directed to the trodden paths * of repentance, and weep sighing bitterly, * so that I be delivered * by Your mercy from my many sins. [SD]
Additional Stichera. For the Forerunner. You have given.
By the serpent’s wickedness has my unfortunate soul been dimmed. * Hence, I pray you, illumine it * through your intercessory prayers. And direct me * to walk on the straight paths which lead unto the blessed life, * I supplicate you, O blessed Baptist John, * that I your worthless suppliant, having succeeded in my request, * may with zeal always glorify * you, O wonderful man of God. [SD]
Glory. Both now. Theotokion. Same Melody.
Prokeimenon. Mode 4.
The Lord will hear me when I cry to Him.
Verse: You heard me when I called, O God of my righteousness. You strengthened my heart when I was in distress. [SAAS]
At the Aposticha.
Aposticha. Mode 4. For compunction.
How I intended, O Lord, to cancel * with my tears the bond against me of my iniquities, * and through repentance so to be pleasing * unto You throughout the remainder of my life. * But then the enemy fools me * and on my soul wages warfare. * Save me before I utterly perish, O Lord my God. [SD]
Verse: I lift my eyes to You, who dwell in heaven. Behold, as the eyes of servants look to the hands of their masters, as the eyes of the maidservant look to the hands of her mistress, so our eyes look to the Lord our God until He shall have compassion on us. [SAAS]
Who has been tossed by a storm and hastened * to this calm and quiet harbor whose life has not been saved? * Or who was afflicted with pain and illness * and ran unto this clinic whose health was not restored? * O Creator of all things * and Physician of the ailing, * save me before I utterly perish, O Lord my God. [SD]
Verse: Have mercy on us, O Lord, have mercy on us, for we are greatly filled with contempt; our soul is greatly filled with it. We are a disgrace to those who prosper, and a contempt to the arrogant. [SAAS]
For the Martyrs.
O benevolent Lord, who have accepted the holy Martyrs’ endurance, do also from us accept this hymnody; and by their supplications, grant to us the great mercy. [SD]
Glory. Both now. Theotokion. You have given.
Lady, I implore you now, the cleanest Palace of God the King, * holy Virgin extolled by all. * Purify my intellect, soiled by my shameful * thoughts and sinful actions. Make it a dwelling that is bright * and a delight for the Holy Trinity. * And I your worthless servant, being by you rescued, shall magnify * and extol your commanding might and your plenteous tender love. [SD]

Joseph marveled.
Wholly darkened by the mist of sinful pleasures of life * and of passions is the mind of my unfortunate soul; * and it will not reflect on compunction thoughtfully. * O Savior, I implore You to take pity on me, * and grant to me the thought of repentance of sins, * in Your compassion and tender mercy, O Master, * so that before my end I may cry aloud: * O Christ my Savior, I pray You save me, * Your desperate and unworthy servant. [GOASD]
For the Martyrs. Same Melody.
Your prize-winning martyr Saints, equipped and armed with the cross, * defeated the machinations of the arch-evil foe * of mankind, O Christ our God. * Shining like stars in heaven, * they are guides for us mortals. * To those who with faith request them, they dispense cures and healings. * Through their intercessions we pray You to save our souls. [SD]

Immaculate Virgin, you alone conceived in your womb * the Maker of all, and by your giving birth you alone * have honored humanity. * Free me from all the snares that the devil has set for me, * establish my on the rock of the words and the will of Christ. * To Him who became incarnate from you, pray for me earnestly. Therefore, since you dismissed error and deception, you gush forth gifts of healing to the faithful, as you unceasingly intercede, for the salvation of our souls. [SD]

LITURGY
The Beatitudes. Mode 4.
Adam fell by a tree, and he was evicted from Paradise. * By the tree of the Cross the Robber gained entrance to Paradise. * The former, by tasting fruit, disobeyed his Maker’s commandment not to eat. * The latter was crucified with Him, whom though hidden he confessed to be God. * Remember us as well in Your kingdom, O Savior. [SD]
O compassionate Christ, * You accepted Peter who wept in grief; * You received the harlot’s tears, * and You granted mercy to the Publican, * O God, when he merely sighed. * O Word most benevolent, now I entreat and pray * that You in Your tender love will grant me forgiveness of all my trespasses, * and rescue me from the fire * of perdition, O gracious Lord. [SD]
Holy Forerunner, you broke * the bonds of your mother’s infertility. * I entreat you now to break * the infertility of my humble heart, * and pray for me so that I may bring forth the good fruits of virtuous deeds, * through which I may also attain everlasting life, and cry aloud to Christ, * “Remember me as well in Your kingdom, O Savior.” [SD]
For the Martyrs.
You were brutally condemned * to submit to torture and punishment: * you were flayed, you were crushed, * you were given over to wild beasts; * your bodies were cut apart; * you were burnt in fire, you were thrown into the sea, * O Martyrs, and you did not renounce Christ our God. Now entreat Him that peace, * enlightenment, and His great mercy be granted us. [SD]
Glory.
Having purified our minds, * let us cry aloud to the Trinity: * “Father, only-begotten Son, * and Holy Spirit, in honor equal to them, * preserve us Your servants who with genuine love worship You our only God * in single Divinity, Kingdom, Rule and glory, as we cry out and say: * Remember me as well in Your heavenly kingdom.” [SD]
Both now. Theotokion.
You received Him in your womb, * in a way surpassing both thought and speech, * and you carried Him to term, * who with the Father is unoriginate, * and with the Holy Spirit shares the throne, and became man to benefit mankind, * O Mary the Bride of God, He made you a spacious receptacle of God. * Now earnestly pray to Him to save us your servants. [SD]
