ON MONDAY EVENING
At, Lord, I have cried, Prosomia.
Stichera for the Master.
Mode 3. The power of Your holy Cross.
The passions of my soul and body that are savagely * rebelling are submerging * me dually, O Savior. * They are drawing me into the depths of desperation. * But as of old with the sea, * so also quiet them, * and grant me serenity. [SD]
Now I who am condemned no longer have the confidence * to lift my eyes and look up into the heights of heaven, * as the multitude of my offences drags me down. * I pray to You, O Savior, as did the publican, * “Have mercy on me, the sinner.” [GOASD]
O Lord, Your Second Coming will be great and terrible * when You will sit in judgment * and execute it justly. * Thus I pray You, judge me not who am condemned already. * But rather spare me, O God, * and deliver me * from the impending crisis. [SD]
Additional Stichera. For the Forerunner. Same Melody.
O Baptist of the Savior, you have shined like morning light * throughout the world, illumining hearts of the believers * who honor you as the glorious Forerunner. * We pray that you illumine both our minds and souls, * so that we may extol you. [GOASD]
Cease not from supplicating on behalf of all the world, * we fervently beseech you, * O Forerunner thrice-blessed, * that we may receive divine grace from heaven * to trample on the head * of the malignant one, * with you as intercessor. [SD]
Glory. Both now. Theotokion. Same Melody.
Prokeimenon. Mode 4.
The Lord will hear me when I cry to Him.
Verse: You heard me when I called, O God of my righteousness. You strengthened my heart when I was in distress. [SAAS]
At the Aposticha.
Aposticha. Mode 3. For compunction.
We offer You, O Christ, an evening hymn with incense and spiritual songs. O Savior, have mercy on our souls. [SD]
Verse: I lift my eyes to You, who dwell in heaven. Behold, as the eyes of servants look to the hands of their masters, as the eyes of the maidservant look to the hands of her mistress, so our eyes look to the Lord our God until He shall have compassion on us. [SAAS]
Save me, O Lord God my Savior, save me! * For all people You are salvation. * The storm of the sinful passions disturbs me. * I am sinking because of the weight of transgressions. * Please extend Your hand and help me. * To the light of true compunction lead me up, O Lord, * alone compassionate and benevolent. [SD]
Verse: Have mercy on us, O Lord, have mercy on us, for we are greatly filled with contempt; our soul is greatly filled with it. We are a disgrace to those who prosper, and a contempt to the arrogant. [SAAS]
For the Martyrs.
The power of Your martyr Saints is truly great, O Christ. * They drive out evil spirits * while lying in their monuments. * They contended for the sake of true religion, * and therefore, by their faith in the Holy Trinity, * destroyed the foe’s dominion. [SD]
Glory. Both now. Theotokion.
O Theotokos, the protection of all who pray to you, in you we trust, in you we boast, in you is our every hope. Intercede with Him who was born of you, on behalf of us your worthless servants. [SD]

MATINS

O my soul, repent while you still sojourn on earth, for dust in the grave does not sing praise, nor is it released from transgressions. Cry out now to Christ God, “Knower of the heart, I have sinned. Before You condemn me, spare me, O God, and have mercy on me.” [SD]
How long will you persist in your offenses, O my soul? Till when will you put off repenting? Call to mind the judgment that is coming, and cry aloud to Christ God: “O sinless Lord, who know the hearts of all, I have sinned. Have mercy on me.” [SD]

[GOASD]
For the Martyrs. You were so beautiful.
Almighty God and Lord, You made the memory * of Your victorious Martyrs so radiant; * for You equipped them with the strength to imitate Your Passion and death. * They also bravely overcame * all the forces of Belial. * Therefore they received the grace * to perform cures and miracles. * We pray You, by their earnest entreaties, * to grant Your people peace, O Compassionate One. Gather my scattered mind, O Lord, and purify my heart which has dried up. Grant me repentance as You did to Peter, groans as You did to the Publican, tears as You did to the Harlot, so that with a loud voice I may cry to You: Save me, O God, as the only One who is compassionate and benevolent. [SD]

The Beatitudes. Mode 3.
When our primal father Adam disobeyed Your divine command, O Christ, You expelled him from Paradise. But when the faithful Robber while on the cross confessed You to be Lord, You restored him there, as he cried to You: “O Savior, when You come in Your kingdom, remember me.” [SD]
By the pleasures of this life I have rendered * my soul unclean and stained; wholly defeated and desperate * I come to You, O Savior, * seeking Your tender-mercies, and to You * who alone known my secrets, I cry aloud: * Purify me, I pray, in Your compassion, O Christ. [SD]
O all-lauded holy Baptist, as the Prophet * in the middle of the two God-given Testaments, Old and New, * renew me who became old * because of sins, and pray that I may walk * on the paths of repentance unerringly, * which by your prayers will indeed lead me to the Kingdom of Christ. [SD]
